What Diet?

I did Weight Watchers a few years ago and I love how it works with being able to eat just about anything you want but with moderation of course and stay within daily points you are given based on how much you weigh.

Yesterday I found a fabulous recipe on Weight Watchers – Easy Fried Rice and it’s only 3 points! Tyler added some chicken and it was delicious! Tyler was raving on and on how delicious it tasted and that it didn’t take us long to make dinner. We definitely have enough leftovers for the next few days.

I’ve been thinking about signing up for Weight Watchers online again but I haven’t decided yet if I want to really spend money on that especially when I know how it works.

There are so many different diets out there. It can be overwhelming at how many options there are and not knowing which one is best for me and my body. A guy was featured on CNN for losing weight and he has a blog over at 344 pounds. He lost 120 pounds in 10 months. That’s amazing, right? Get this… he still ate everything he loved but just stayed within calories. I’d love to still eat the food I love but I know I need to learn to love some other foods I haven’t tried or currently don’t like.

One mistake I learned from this week is that I didn’t get enough fiber in and you can guess the result of that – constipation. As of today, I can say I’m no longer constipated! Does this call for a celebration!?

I accomplished drinking 1 gallon of water yesterday!! Gosh, I don’t think I have ever had to go to the bathroom that many times in one day. I’m just glad that my desk isn’t that far from the bathroom at work.

a friend told me about this today: http://www.dolebananadiet.com/

i think i’ll be adding another banana to my usual banana for breakfast to see what happens. maybe this is something you can give a try if it’s low on points, instead of that diet coke :) how did that go btw?

if you’re looking to track, use spark people. its free, has recipes, counts calories, cabrs, fat, etc and gives you a goal based on your weight and what youre trying to lose and by when. thats the app i use for my iphone, sparkpeople and i LOVE it. i have done weight watchers and i find that so far i love sparkpeople more BUt i eat WW food and tips. i particularly love their bagel and cream cheese for breakfast which is only like 220 calories for both and filling. they have amazing ice cream for 2 points so i get my sugar fix and add in a 1 point chocolate cake, HEAVENLY!! i’m so excited to start this and that you are too, ill definitely be encouraging you!! also, my mom makes me a big meal of brown rice, green peppers and chicken which i freeze and eat which has fiber protein and veggies and is so convenient lol

I find for the most part WW is good in terms of recipes but I don’t like their actual program.

Here in Australia we have a diet called the CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet. It’s just common sense crossed with counting kilojoules/calories, and is basically all fresh produce and using protein as a filler and avoiding starch. It works. Google it if you’re interested and I can send you some of my favourite recipes if you like.

The first time I lost 2st I did it off my own back with determination and the drive to look good, so that’s what I’m doing this time :) If you know basically what you’re doing then I say don’t pay for it, because paying to lose weight eventually makes you resent it and not enjoy it – if that makes sense? I lost weight with calorie counting and the OCCASIONAL exercise – I say this because I hate “exercise” (i.e. running, aerobics), so I tended to dance a lot around the house, and even do some cleaning lol! It does work, the only reason I stopped following my calories is because I became bored with general life, so I ate more to fill the time.
But yeah, calorie counting is so easy and less confusing than points etc. I kept a little diary in Excel of what I’d eaten everyday and it was just so simple.
Good luck with it all *hugs*

I would not do any actual diet because they never work in the long run. I am convinced that WW is the best solution for me (and I am signed up online). I tried counting calories but found that it was too complicated, it’s much easier to remember how many points something is.
I might try that fried rice sometime. I would probably also add chicken to mine, but it sounds really good.

I think the thing that has helped me be successful is that I don’t deny/deprive myself. If I crave something, I eat it, just a small portion.

    congrats on the new blog!

Yum, that looks delicious! Maybe I’ll try it too sometimes this weekend, we have some frozen chicken that needs to be thawed and cooked.

I wouldn’t start paying for WW again. I don’t know, but it seems like every time anybody I know starts up again and once they stop paying for it, it affects them to fall out of habit? I’m not saying it would happen to you, but you already know how it works and you are capable of keeping track each week instead of someone else doing it for you. You can definitely do it yourself, you’re off to an amazing start. :)

I love Fiber One bars, they’re such a treat.

Good luck losing weight, Steph Anne! You look terrific already, though!

I have been using FitDay.com to track my food. It works amazing. I have been eating whatever I wanted (even chocolate) but because I am staying with the 1600-1800 calorie limit, I have been losing weight.

that looks seriously yummy! :) i just got a fitbit – it’s in the mail – hoping it’ll help keep me accountable. figured i’d go with the one time fee over something recurring. now i totally want some fried rice for dinner…

Have you ever considered adding additional videos to your blog to keep the viewers more involved? I just read through the whole article and it was very nice but since I am more of a visual learner, I find videos to be more helpful. I like what you guys are always up too. Keep up the excellent work. I will return to your blog on the regular for some new post.

Aw, this is a really good post. In theory I’d like to write like this too – taking time and real effort to make a good article… but what can I say… I procrastinate alot and never seem to get anything done
