Let’s Burn It Off, February!!

A good family friend of ours is letting us temporarily borrow her treadmill (Sandy, thank you!). I tested it out this morning and it was really nice to just run while watching TV. I’m excited to think that this spot in the house will be where the pounds are going to burn off! This way I can work out more if I wanted to in the evenings after working out at the gym with my Dad. He refuses to leave me alone at the gym after he’s done with his work out. He will even stand next to the treadmill and cheer me on for an extra 20-30 minutes!
This week I didn’t even go to the gym at all. Horrible, I know! I’d like to blame it on Super Mario Bros! I also was sick on Wednesday night and all day Thursday. I still managed to lose 1.5 pounds this week which brings me to a total of 8.2 pounds that I’ve lost so far. Slow but steady!
I’m tempted to buy Just Dance for Wii. I suck at dancing and this looks like a lot of fun to dance along to with friends and get Tyler bustin’ new moves! Maybe we need to cut back on video games and go hiking instead.
Here’s to another successful month!

That must be so convenient to have a treadmill at home and in front of the TV. I must admit sometimes part of what makes it so hard to get myself to the gym is the going there. I have to take the bus and tram and while it only takes about 20 minutes, when the weather isn’t that great, it is hard for me to make myself go.

Super-jealous. Wish I had room for a treadmill!

That’s so nice of your friend to lend it to you! It’s great to be able to give it a test run in your own house instead of buying one blind. I know a couple of people who got treadmills that could be folded and pushed aside. They swore they would unfold it and set it in front of the TV and walk/trot/run/crawl/move on it for at least one full show everyday. This may have happened some at first, but one of them has a spiderweb or two on it now.
I hope this works out great for you! I think being deaf and being used to relying on caption is a benefit because the treadmill can be annoying if you want to just focus on the sounds of the tv, if that makes sense.
And Super Mario Bros? Love.

I’m coming to town very soon.. you didn’t respond to my offer to allow me to bust your butt working out? Offer still stands..
Do you have Wii Fit stuff? I loved trying it out at my brothers and it makes me want to get a Wii!

Hey there – I was browsing blogs and came upon your fitness blog! I also went on a weight loss journey and have reached my goal (and then some) and thought I would comment! My mother in law actually let my husband and I have her treadmill so I’ve had the luxury of the treadmill at home too and it is wonderful!!! I started out with very slow walking and I can run now comfortably at 5.0 and have ran at the highest of 8.0 so far!! Slow but steady is the best way to lose it!!!
